Sarah Townsend, a third generation business entrepreneur has been in the gift ware business for over 16 years. When Sarah moved back to New Zealand from London in 1987 after studying Business Management, she saw a prime opportunity in the New Zealand market place for a business with a ‘Social Responsibility’ making natural products.

After her daughter India was born, Sarah was informed by a French Doctor, while in Europe, that herbal holistic medicine was covered by insurance in some European countries, this was all that Sarah needed to establish the backbone of The Aromatherapy Company.  Using her experience in herbal therapy, Sarah set out to create a range of products to fill the gap in the market place for fragrance free products.  The philosophy is clear, Aromatherapy products made in New Zealand using 100% pure and natural essential oils. No sodium laurel sulphates, no artificial fragrance, no dyes, no parabens, no mineral oils. We are constantly improving our formulas to ensure the most natural product possible.
